Biographical Information
Gary brings 30 years of leadership experience in the Energy, Industrial and Manufacturing Industry space to Allen Austin Global Executive Search at its' Houston headquarters. He has been directly involved in the Energy and Industrial space through his work within the Energy Practices of IBM Corporation and a boutique Technology Consulting firm for nearly 25 years. He has served clients in the upstream, downstream, midstream, polymers/chemicals, shipbuilding, and industrial space. In addition, he was the CEO of a small manufacturing company, where he developed and led a significant growth plan before selling his shares in the business. Gary is also an expert in consulting with entrepreneurs as they seek to start up new business ventures through either franchise development or start up, helping them develop their business plan and funding strategy.
Gary began his career with IBM Corporation where he was primarily involved with solutions development and support in the oil and gas, shipbuilding, polymers and chemicals industry sectors. He then moved to a mid-sized information technology firm which specialized in Project Management, off shore project development, and data warehousing. He served customers ranging from the largest oil and gas companies in the world to start up energy venture capitalist firms. After fifteen years at this boutique firm, he bought a small manufacturing company where he was Chairman and CEO. After doubling the size of the enterprise, he sold his share in the business and started a consulting firm which assisted entrepreneurs in identifying and securing new business ventures both domestically and internationally.
Gary's consulting practice with AAGES focuses on working in the Energy space at the upstream, downstream and midstream levels as well as Industrial and Manufacturing firms. He specializes in working with Private Equity and Investment Banking firms who work with middle market and family-owned businesses in these sectors.
Gary graduated from The University of Texas at Austin where he majored in Finance. He is married to Brenda and has two teenage daughters. He is a scratch golfer and is involved with numerous civic and community organizations in the Houston area.
